Transitioning Child Dependent Memberships to Adult Memberships
Do you offer age restrictive memberships? At what age do you cap your dependents, 16-25? Do you have your “family membership” well defined? These questions bring up the all-important question of, how do you manage these memberships?
We have all become accustomed to the “quick fix” or the automated ways that are the 21st century. There are some aspects of our business that can fall through the cracks; one of those is the dependent who has aged out. How do you keep your dependents current with the appropriate membership? Here are three different systems our members told us work for them:
- Honor system: let us know when your child ages out and the club will update the family membership
- Club will run a report and reach out to any affected members/memberships on an annual basis
- Software will expire any member who ages out at a given age
Do you have a system that works for your facility? Let us know at rewards@nihca.org.
